Elke klantvraag werd behandeld alsof het de eerste keer was. Daardoor voelde de propositie fuzzy. De website stond vol losse diensten en vage termen. Het team rende, maar niemand kon in \u00e9\u00e9n zin uitleggen waar ze nou voor stonden. Marketing was ongericht. Dat werd de rode lijn. De homepage werd herschreven rond precies dat probleem (\u201cJe hebt een goed idee maar geen tijd voor papierwerk\u201d). Ze voegden drie korte klantcases toe (\u201czo kreeg Van Dijk Machines \u20ac180k vrijgespeeld voor automatisering\u201d). Het team kreeg een vaste pitchzin en oefende die tot hij natuurlijk klonk. Dat gaf rust in salesgesprekken: minder uitleg, meer doorpakken. De fout die vooraf werd gemaakt (\u201ciedereen kunnen helpen\u201d) bleek precies de groeiremmer. Les: scherpe positionering voelt in het begin eng (\u201cwe sluiten mensen uit\u201d), maar levert juist meer instroom op van jouw ideale klant. Focus = grip.
